The Simple Life:

A cottage small is all I'm after,
Not one that's spacious and wide.
A house that rings with joy and laughter,
And the ones you love inside

More Childhood Nostalgia

Ok, I'm not sure where this childhood nostalgia is coming from. First Mr. Jeremy Fisher, and now this. Perhaps it is the weather beginning to change. Fall always makes me yearn for all things warm, cozy and nostalgic. After I blogged about Mr. Jeremy Fisher, I remembered the series of childrens books about Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. I think I had most books in the series, and I read them over and over and over again. I loved them so much that I actually snatched up a compilation book at Borders Books a few years ago. And yes, I read it! The kids in these stories were all typical kids that did typical kid things. But the things they did weren't really 'bad' in the same sense that we see today. Not picking up toys, gossiping, talking back, shoving on the playground. All things that kids shouldn't do, but so much more innocent than taking a knife to school or beating the crap out of some kid because you want his sneakers. Thanks to Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, the parents of these neighborhood children went to her, were given a 'cure' and poof, the child malady was gone. Oh what a simple concept, even if it is only fiction!!
